DC has announced their two offerings for this year’s Free Comic Book Day, set to take place on May 7th in comic book stores all over the world. In preparation for their villainous Suicide Squad hitting theaters on August 5th, Adam Glass and Marco Rudy are giving readers a crash course in exactly what lunacy can occur when Harley Quinn, Deadshot and the rest of DC’s lost souls get together to save the world.
In DC Super Hero Girls #1, Shea Fontana and Yancey Labat give people of all ages an introduction to a brand new universe that will feature younger versions of DC’s female heroes and villains. This issue will feature two stories from the upcoming graphic novel DC Super Hero Girls: Final Crisis.
The publisher is surely hoping to appeal to readers of all ages with one title geared more towards mature readers, and one aimed at younger fans. They are also making an effort to connect with female readers with both covers promising female lead stories.
